Essence of the North - Runners Up.

After a browse through my image library I was surprised to see just how many photos I have taken over the past 4/5 years that 'encapsulate the essence' of the North.

Overflowing rubbish from a cheap bin bag, concrete slabs against red brick
and pigeons scratting for last nights leftovers. Manchester.

Poor spelling, bad colour co-ordination, homophobic humour and local Football graffiti set against a sprinkling of dirt and rubbish behind a rusty old fence. Wakefield.

Half price strippers, bad nightclubs and chewing gum. Wakefield.

A self-titled Industrial estate consisting of 3 seemingly unused buildings in
the middle of nowhere can only mean one thing. John O'Groats.

Multi-Billion Pound Coffee Franchise and a cold homeless person sat aside it.
A place rich with contrast - wealth and poverty become an obvious divide. Edinburgh.

Light-hearted humour consisting of animals, male-dominance, rape and bricks. Barnsley
